Foundation course for Preoperative Assessment Nurses - 18TH - 20TH NOV 2019 (NO SPACES REMAINING!)

The Foundation assessment training is aimed at providing the core skills required to enable the POA assessor to complete the tasks required in the clinic. This course is suitable for all inter professionals working in the field of POA, independent or NHS sectors and will cover the core skills required to be effective assessor.  

Topics include reference to the prime national guidance; the concept of Prehabilitation; obesity; obstructive sleep apnoea; cardiac and Respiratory conditions; airway assessment; chest auscultation; understanding haematology and biochemistry results; identification of normal and abnormal ECG; medication requirements in the Preoperative patient and identifying the high risk patient requiring referral to anaesthetist.
