ECG Virtual Course For Nurses - 11th June 2021

The Preoperative Association is very pleased to announce the opening of registration for The ECG interpretation Virtual Course for Nurses 2021.

The course provides a simple approach to assessing ECGS which will assist the practitioner in recognising gross abnormalities such as bradycardias, tachycardias, atrial fibrillation, heart blocks, bundle branch blocks and axis deviation. Much of the course is a practical in nature and attendees will be working on ECGS with the help of the tutors. We look forward to welcoming you to the event which will take place 09.00-12.30 on 11th June 2021. 

Interpretation of Blood Results Virtual Course For Nurses - 24th June 2021

The Preoperative Association is very pleased to announce the opening of registration for The Interpretation of Blood Results Virtual Course For Nurses 2021.

Our course includes the common haematology and biochemistry encountered in Preoperative Assessment Clinics such as full blood count including differentiation of anaemias, coagulation, urea & electrolytes, liver function tests, HbA1c, ferritin and thyroid function tests. Following attendance of this course attendees will have much more confidence in the management of blood results and critical values which will help them to improve patient care and safety. The Preoperative Association Conference 2021

The 2021 Annual Preoperative Association Conference will be held at The Royal College of Physicians - Monday 15th November.

Preoperative Assessment courses for nurses - Chichester 2020

2 Day Advanced Course: 4th & 5th May 2020 CANCELLED due to COVID-19

The Foundation course is aimed at providing the core skills required to enable the POA assessor to complete the tasks required in the clinic. This course is suitable for all inter professionals working in the field of POA, independent or NHS sectors and will cover the core skills required to be effective assessor.

The Advanced course is suitable for nurses who have attended the Foundation course and / or are band 6 level or above with a minimum of 2 years experience.
